Multiple Approver

This service allows Equitel subscribers who are officials operating a ‘chama’ account on behalf of their members, to use their PIN to authorize bank transactions, eliminating the need for officials to meet physically to sign a Cheque.

Bank accounts with a mandate of more than one signatory i.e. Joint accounts, Chama accounts and Investment group accounts can register for this service. The signatories just need to get an Equitel line on their personal accounts and add the joint account as a secondary account. Visit any nearby branch and get activated.

Bank transactions that can be originated and approved using the Multiple Approval service include; sending money to members into their preferred bank accounts or money wallets (e.g. Mpesa or Airtel Money), withdraw cash, pay bills like rent, electricity, water etc.
